A Keepsake of
Treasured Christmas Songs For Your Added Enjoyment This Christmas Season
***Just two left in
stock. When they're gone, that will be it for this season***
Before
"Frosty",
the "Grinch" and "Rudolph" came on the scene, December was filled with
beautiful and festive Christmas
music celebrating the birth of Christ.
Maybe you recall
these times when His birth was "the reason for the season"
and remember them fondly.
A
number of these precious Christmas
songs, carols and hymns have survived into
modern times. You are no doubt familiar with such favorites as Joy To
The World from early 1700's
England, The
First Noel from
18th century France, Silent Night,
Holy Night composed by Austrian Franz Gruber in
1818, O
Come, All Ye Faithful
- a 17th century Latin song and It Came Upon
the Midnight Clear
from the 1850's.
How
Many Christmas
Songs Have Been Lost or Forgotten?
What
about the beautiful Christmas songs that were common in days gone by
but today are seldom or never heard? Are you familiar with A Babe Is
Born In Bethlehem which can be traced back to the 14th
century, Come
Hither, Ye Faithful
- an old favorite from Portugal, In Bethlehem,
The Lowly
- a 17th century Dutch song or The Happy
Christmas
Comes Once More - a carol from Sweden?
The 1919
Christmas Song Book - Available Again
These
and many other treasured Christmas songs, carols and hymns are
contained in an early 20th century
Christmas Song Book now brought back to life. First copyrighted in
1918, this song book contains Christmas sheet music for more
than 70 popular songs of the day. Some of
these songs
you will recognize such as those listed above and others that remain
popular to this day.
However,
you will discover there are other Christmas songs that you
have
probably never seen or
heard before that are just as precious and meaningful as
the ones you
know. This song book was hugely popular in its day having
sold thousands
of copies, very few of which exist today. Now you can own the 1919 Christmas Song
Book (or present it as a gift to a special friend) and
rediscover songs that are missing from our modern day Christmas
seasons/festivities.

This
is
just 34 of the more than 70 songs you will find in this
wonderful Christmas Song Book. I know you recognized some of these
songs as you scanned the list but how many songs in the above list are
unfamiliar ("lost") to you? Put another way, how many
"new" Christmas
songs are in this book that you will be thrilled to discover?
The New And Improved 1919
Christmas
Song Book
The
original 1919 Christmas
Song Book
was 6" by 9", a little on the small
side for reading words and music. So the "new" book has been enlarged
to 81/2" by 11". An improved Table of Contents and Introduction have
replaced the old ones. Another change you will benefit from is most
pages have been enhanced
from
their original state. You see printing and typesetting in
1919 was not
quite the state-of-the-art you and I are used to today. So some of the
pages that needed improvement were "cleaned up".
You
will notice another
most helpful change that was made to solve one of the most annoying
problems a pianist or organist has with song books - having the book stay open (if
you are a musician you know what I'm talking about). You will find
the quality
spiral binding keeps the book open to the page you
want. The spiral binding makes for a more rugged, longer
lasting book too!
A Treasury of Christmas Songs
At One Low Price
The
price for the 1919
Christmas
Song Book
is only $11.00 with FREE
shipping (within the U. S.) - about the price of a night
at the movies
or a few meals at a fast food restaurant. Even though the 1919
Christmas Song Book is priced similar
to these forms of
"entertainment", you will be able to use and enjoy
this song book for many Christmas seasons to come.
Don't
look for the 1919 Christmas Song Book at Barnes & Noble, or on
Amazon, eBay or anywhere
else. You
won't find it. It is only available from this
site at this time of
year. Don't lose out on owning this scarce and entertaining
music book.
